How can you get involved?

We are passionate about crime prevention and improving the wellbeing of our residents. Our aim is to encourage open conversations about local issues and what we can do to address them, share valuable information on available services, and provide crime prevention advice.
Neighbourhood Watch provides a platform for residents to report crimes, share information and come together to build a stronger community. We need your help to make our community safer and a “better place to live”.

Emergency Calls – Dial 999
Call 999 in emergency situations like these:
• If there is an immediate danger to life
• If someone is being violent or is threatening violence
• If there is a road traffic collision where life is at risk, or the road is blocked
• If a crime happening right now, such as a burglary or theft
If you accidentally dial 999, stay on the line and tell the operator that you’re safe.
Please note: 112 also works as an emergency number in the UK and will be answered by English speaking operatives.999 and 112 will work from landlines and mobile phones, even with no signal or when a mobile appears to have no battery life.
Accessible Methods of Contact
If you have pre registered with the Emergency SMS service, you can use:
• Textphone 18000
• Text 999
If you’re a British Sign Language user, you can contact the emergency services via 999 BSL using a remote BSL interpreter.
Making a Silent 999 Call
If you're in danger, call 999 and try to speak, even by whispering. You may also be asked to cough or tap keys to answer questions.
Calling 999 from a Mobile
• If you cannot speak or answer questions, press55 when prompted to be transferred to the police.
• The police can usually locate your phone.
• If you do not respond or press 55, the call may be ended.
Calling 999 from a Landline
• If you cannot speak and only background noise is heard, your call will be transferred to the police.
• If you hang up, the line may stay connected for 45 seconds in case you pick it up again.
• Landline calls automatically provide location information.
Reporting Crime Anonymously
If you have information about a crime and do not want to speak to the police, contact Crimestoppers online or call 0800 555 111.
You will remain 100% anonymous. Always.

Suffolk Connected
Suffolk Connected is a free messaging service from Suffolk Constabulary.
Signing up to Neighbourhood Watch gives you the option to register however, this can also be done here.
The service is completely free and registering enables you:
- To receive news and updates on policing matters that are relevant to you
- To receive relevant crime prevention advice
- To reply directly to neighbourhood officers and have your say on local policing priorities
- To receive important alerts about issues impacting your local area including:
- Warnings about scams and fraud
- Witness appeals

Where to Report Fraud
Report Fraud is a service where you can report fraud and cyber crime to the police. You can make a report via:

- Their Report Fraud Contact Centre 0300 123 2040
When you submit a report, you will receive a police crime reference number and will receive updates through your preferred contact method.

National Property Register
Immobilise is the UK National Property Register where you can register your valuable items for free to be a part of their database. Many items of identifiable property are either lost or stolen each year. By taking the time to register your property on the database, your valuable items will be identifiable to law enforcement agencies across the country. This will help police to reunite lost or stolen items to their lawful owners.

- Watches
- Power Tools
- Keys
- Golf Clubs
