We are looking for volunteers to join our friendly and diverse team within the Parish Council. Do you have time to spare to join are volunteers within one of the following teams:

Community Speed Watch

CONCERNED ABOUT SPEEDING IN YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD?

Have you ever worried about speeding cars putting your children, pets or yourself at risk? Do you wish there was a way to make your streets safer and encourage drivers to slow down? If so, Community Speed Watch could be the answer you’ve been looking for.

Martlesham Parish Council are looking for volunteers to join a successful Community Speed Watch team in our community. The group carry out sessions at sites of concern within the area. The aim is to reduce speeding by means of detection and reporting to Suffolk Constabulary Speed Watch, warning letters are sent out to the registered keepers of vehicles.

Our Community Speed Watch Team is run in conjunction with Suffolk Constabulary, community speed watch.


Play Space Inspectors


Volunteers wanted to assist our current team who carry out regular inspections at our play spaces throughout the Community. These include:-

Recreation Ground - The Street, Old Martlesham
Jubilee Play Space - off Black Tiles Lane
Diamond Jubilee Bike Trail Main Road
Harry Higgins Play Space
Near the Pavilion on Martlesham Heath
Centenary Play Space - by Gorseland Primary School, Martlesham Heath
Trim Trail - Martlesham Heath & Martlesham Common

Direction and training will be provided together with an understanding of what to look out for and how to report this to our office team.

These regular checks support the Annual Check of all play equipment with Martlesham, which is currently carried out by Wicksteed Leisure.

Parish Council Notice Board Caretakers/Monitors

The Parish Council has a number of noticeboards located throughout the community. These are updated with Parish Council news and activities in the which Parish Council are involved. We are looking for volunteers to help keep these Noticeboards up to date with information that will be sent out from the Parish Council Office.
